The USA’s hopes of having a player appear in the second round of the Libertadores Cup depend on Chile’s Universidad Catolica’s clash with Colombia’s Once Caldas. With Tennessee product Jonny Walker in goal, Catolica must defeat the Colombians tonight in Santiago. Walker’s team lost to Once Caldas, 3-0, in their first meeting in Group 8 play. Catolica trails Paraguay’s Olimpia by one point and Once Caldas by two points. Brazil’s Flamengo is last, with 4 points. The top two finishers advance. The Libertadores Cup, featuring the top teams of South America and Mexico, is one of the world’s most prestigious tournaments.
