Dirk Kuyt is set to undergo a medical and agree to personal terms before settling what’s believed to be a move from Feyenoord to Liverpool for $19 million. “For me, Liverpool is sure to be the dream club I was looking for,” Kuyt told the Reds website. This marks the end of a summer-long chase for the Dutch international, who has also been linked with Tottenham and Newcastle. To be sure, Feyenoord wanted to keep the striker, who appeared for Holland at the World Cup, but Kuyt always said if he moved anywhere he wanted to move to Liverpool. “We went a long way to doing that and Dirk was open to that, but we knew that the chance was he would leave if his dream club came in,” said a Feyenoord representative. “That characterises Dirk’s attitude: either Feyenoord or my dream club. Liverpool is his dream club.”
