Inter Milan has ruled out any interest in Real Madrid’s David Beckham after coach Roberto Mancini stated that Luis Figo will remain at the club. It had been suggested that Inter was interested in the former England captain as Figo was widely linked with a January move. Reports last week stated that Figo had signed a 6-month deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad; Beckham was widely seen as his ideal replacement. “Figo is an Inter player and he will stay at Inter,” Mancini said after his club had arrived in Bahrain for a friendly match against the national team. “Furthermore, just as Figo is an Inter player, Beckham is a Real Madrid player. And out of respect I never talk about players who belong to other clubs.” However, the Inter coach has admitted that Figo was frustrated with his lack of first team action, but he insists the Portuguese winger will see out his current contract, which expires in June. Meanwhile, David Beckham has yet to sign an extension with Real; his contract also expires in June.
