Claudio Lopez scored in the 2nd minute to put Argentina ahead 1-0 in the gold-medal match.
Ariel Ortega fed Hernan Crespo on the right wing, and Crespo made a long run towards the end line, where he hit an excellent cross into the box to the far post. Lopez knocked a sensational header into the upper left corner of the goal from seven yards out.
