Mexico national team coach Ricardo Lavolpe called up 20 players for the friendly against the United States Thursday in Houston (TV: ESPN2 and Telemundo, live, 7:55 p.m. ET).

The match is the first since the United States beat Mexico, 2-0, in the round of 16 at the 2002 World Cup.

Only two players who faced the United States in Jeonju are traveling to Houston: Salvador Carmona and Jesus Arellano. Jared Borgetti, who started in the World Cup match, is a late scratch.

No players from Cruz Azul and UNAM, which are playing this week in the Libertadores Cup, were called up. Two players from Morelia were called up even though it meets Necaxa Wednesday in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. No foreign-based players are in Lavolpe's squad.
