Mexico’s 2-0 loss to Bulgaria in Morelia Wednesday marked the fourth straight game that Mexico has not scored under Coach Enrique Meza, appointed last fall. Since the 7-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago in World Cup qualifying, Mexico has lost three times by 2-0 scores (USA, Argentina and Bulgaria) and tied Canada, 0-0. Mexico showed little against Bulgaria, which could have won by a bigger score on the first leg of its three-game CONCACAF tour. There was speculation that Meza, who replaced Manuel Lapuente, would be gone if the Tri lost to Bulgaria. Mexico’s last game before opening the Hexagonal against the United States Feb. 28 in Columbus is Jan. 31 against Colombia in Los Angeles. Jan. 24 in Morelia Mexico 0 Bulgaria 2.
