What has happened to European Champion AC Milan? The Rossoneri have yet to win a home game in Serie A this season and have failed to score a single goal at the San Siro since September. Saturday’s match vs. Juventus was yet another 0-0 draw, leaving Milan fans bemused as to how a side with so much talent consistently fails to find the net.

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has ideas: “It’s like playing on soap here,” he said. “Now I understand why Milan can’t play well and win on this field.” On the other hand, league leader Inter Milan, which shares the San Siro with neighbor AC, has won five of six home games this season, so there shouldn’t be any excuses. That said, Coach Carlo Ancelotti isn’t making any. “We have nothing to reproach ourselves about,” the Milan coach told reporters on Saturday. “We were a bit tired from our Champions League match in Lisbon against Benfica last Wednesday, but we gave our all. Juventus are aggressive, compact, the tightest defense in Italy.” It’s unbelievable how Ancelotti continues to defend Milan’s performances in spite of the Rossoneri’s poor record. Some think it’s unbelievable that he still has his job.

Meanwhile, playmaker Kaka has lifted the Ballon d’Or, formerly the European Player of the Year award. Apparently it was a near-unanimous decision and the Brazilian is also the odds-on favorite to take home FIFA’s World Player of the Year honor. But even he failed to score (or spark) against Juventus on Saturday.
