The San Jose Clash have named Lynne Meterparel Business Manager and Owners Representative and Renato Capobianco Director of Soccer. Meterparel will oversee the day-to-day business activities of the organization, while Capobianco will be responsible for all on-field operations for the Clash. Meterparel, who previously served as the Director of Crowd Building for the Revolution, led New England to a top-three finish in MLS attendance in each of her three seasons. In 1997, she earned Major League Soccer’s inaugural Commissioner’s Award in recognition of her achievements as the Revolution paced MLS in attendance with an average of 21,423 fans per game that season. Prior to joining MLS, Meterparel served as the national director of the Legacy Tour, designing and managing the community outreach efforts and events of the grassroots program leading up to the 1994 World Cup. Capobianco has previously served as an assistant coach of the U-17 United States national team, the Tampa Bay Mutiny, and the New England Revolution. He also had a three-year stint as team administrator for the U.S. men’s national team, which included over 80 international events, as well as the 1994 World Cup. Following national team duty he went on to serve as Deputy Competition Manager of the Orange Bowl soccer venue in the 1996 Olympic Games.
