Here are short takes on each of the 12 MLS teams status coming out of the SuperDraft, listed by conference in reverse order of their finish last year.

CD CHIVAS USA: If Francisco Palencia and Juan Pablo Garcia pitch in from the start of the season and Bob Bradley acquires and motivates Ante Razov and Jesse Marsch anchors the middle, nobody will ask about Yura Movsisyan.

REAL SALT LAKE: There's tons more to do regardless of how quickly Mehdi Ballouchy (second pick in draft) adapts to the pro game, but he was the only pick Real had in the first 25 selections. Nice planning. Chris Klein can only help.

LOS ANGELES: Adios to Pando, welcome back Cobi, hello to Villar? Brazilian striker is on Galaxy radar screen. Nathan Sturgis (No. 12 overall) is a good fit.

COLORADO: Makeover redux but is it progress to antagonize the only goalkeeper in the league (Joe Cannon) who can win a game on his own? And there's a reason Jacob Peterson went at No. 21. Allocation due for Nat Borchers move to Norway.

FC DALLAS: Coach Colin Clarke is on the clock. Draft picks Blake Wagner, Dax McCarty, Justin Moore and Dominic Oduro are all well and good, but this team needs big seasons from Greg Vanney, Simo Valakari, Eddie Johnson and/or Carlos Ruiz, not college kids.

HOUSTON: Properly prepared, Pat Ianni (No. 8 overall) can contribute. A good team is intact but thrust into a new environment.

COLUMBUS: Good draft (Jed Zayner and Brandon Moss and lots of forwards), smart trades, sharp coach in Sigi Schmid. All systems go if the role of Kyle Martino can be clarified.

KANSAS CITY: More upgrades are needed and Movsisyan may not be as important as other additions. Lance Watson and Tyson Wahl aren't sure things, either. But there's lots of allocation money on hand.

METROSTARS: Hype about No. 1 pick Marvell Wynne and No. 17 Josimer Altidore, other issues are more pressing. Back line needs to be rebuilt, Canadian midfielder Adrian Serioux may replace Michael Bradley. And what if Razov leaves?

CHICAGO: Track record with draft picks (Damani Ralph, Chris Rolfe) is good, so Calen Carr and Brian Plotkin have hope. Foreign spots open with Lubos Reiter and Samuel Caballero released. Has a good chunk of allocation money.

D.C. UNITED: Justin Moose joins an array of flank players: Santino Quaranta, Freddy Adu, Josh Gros. Jeff Carroll and Rod Dyachenko added to midfield mix. OK. What about forward, and thrice-concussed Alecko Eskandarian?

NEW ENGLAND: Only three picks in the draft, and two of them forwards: Willie Sims and Kyle Brown. Hmmm.
