The Dallas Burn has acquired veteran Peruvian international Percy Olivares, a 34-year-old defender. Olivares most recently played for PeruÆs Sporting Cristal. He spent 1999-2001 with GreeceÆs Panathinaikos in Greece, for which he appeared in the UEFA Champions League. ''Percy brings a great deal of experience, good technical ability and a lot of pace,'' said Dallas coach Mike Jeffries. ''He can play wide on either side in the back or in the midfield. He gives us a great deal of versatility at a lot of different positions.'' Olivares appeared 84 times for the Peruvian national team. He has also played in Colombia (Deportivo Cali/1991), Germany (Nuremberg 1992-93), Spain (Tenerife/1993-94), Argentina (Rosario Central/1994), Mexico (Cruz Azul/1995) and Brazil (Fluminense/1996).
