The Dallas Burn traded Colombian midfielder Leonel Alvarez and future considerations to the New England Revolution for Ecuadorian striker Ariel Graziani, who played just three games for the Revs after being allocated to them on June 26. The 28-year-old Graziani, who played for Mexican club Morelia before joining New England, has 12 goals in 21 appearances for Ecuador. Alvarez, 34, played 21 games for the Burn this season, tallying six assists. Since 1996, Alvarez has played in 70 regular season games for Dallas, and was voted the club’s Honda MVP for the 1996 season. The two-time MLS All-Star has appeared 85 times for Colombia.
