Two sources have confirmed that strikers Alex Comas (MetroStars) and Diego Serna (Miami) are being offered in trades. Whether they could be swapped for each other — they earn roughly the same salary and are both senior internationals — isn’t yet clear. MetroStars coach Octavio Zambrano would reportedly like to elevate Rodrigo Faria to a starting role until Adolfo Valencia recovers from knee surgery and use Faria to fill in for Clint Mathis during his absences for international duty. Fusion coach Ray Hudson, frustrated at Serna’s play against Tampa Bay, publicly criticized the enigmatic striker yet again.
