Colorado Rapids general manager Dan Counce said Thursday no resolution has been found for the Gilles Grimandi situation. The Rapids' French newcomer, a former Arsenal midfielder, was reportedly reconsidering his future in MLS.

Grimandi has returned to Colorado from his native France troubled by ''personal issues, family issues,'' said Counce. ''He's been training and lifting weights but these things are troubling him. I hope we can work through them.

''He fits in well with the guys and they like him, but he's got something on his mind and I don't really know where it's at. I don't know if it's related to the war or not.''

Grimandi missed the team's preseason trip to Mexico to visit his mother and father in France. Upon his return there were reports he was unhappy with how the French government, which has opposed the U.S. attack on Iraq, has been presented by the American media. He hasn't played a game for the Rapids since a March 12 exhibition in Las Vegas against Mexican club Santos.

He attended the team's scrimmage against Colorado School of the Mines this week but didn't play.

The 32-year-old French midfielder signed with MLS following five seasons with Arsenal and six with Monaco. The Rapids used the allocation they received when Carlos Valderrama left MLS to sign him.
