MLS: Jones, McBride added to All-Star rosters

Columbus Crew forward Brian McBride and Los Angeles midfielder Cobi Jones have been added to the rosters of their respective conferences for the MLS All-Star game July 9 at Giants Stadium. McBride joins the Eastern Conference as the 19th player, as MetroStars midfielder Roberto Donadoni’s status for the game is questionable. The former Italian international suffered a sprained ankle during the Metros’ 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Mutiny on July 4. Jones will replace San Jose’s Eric Wynalda on the Western Conference roster. Wynalda will miss the game as he recently underwent groin surgery. Jones will be added to the pool of reserve players for the West squad, and Dallas forward Dante Washington will take Wynalda’s place in the starting lineup.
