After more than a decade of playing abroad, 27-year-old Jovan Kirovski is returning the United States and will play for the Los Angeles Galaxy. Kirovski moved to Europe from Southern California in 1992 at age 15, joining Manchester United's youth program.

Kirovski, who has scored nine goals in 59 appearances for the USA, leaves English Premier League club Birmingham, for whom he played five league games this season.

He previously played for Crystal Palace (English First Division/2001-2002), Sporting Lisbon (Portuguese First Division/2000-01), Fortuna Cologne (German Second Division/1998-99) and Borussia Dortmund (German First Division/1997-98).

A native of Escondido, Calif., Kirovski played youth club ball with the La Jolla Nomads.

''We're thrilled to add Jovan to the Galaxy's growing offensive arsenal,'' said Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid, who also welcomes 35-year-old Austrian midfielder Andreas Herzog to the team.
