The Los Angeles Galaxy has added Mexican midfielder Jose Retiz to its 18-man roster.

Retiz, 24, who spent last season training with Santos Laguna's reserve squad, is a native of Acapulco who was originally selected by the Galaxy in the third round (29th overall) of the 2000 MLS SuperDraft, but never joined the club.

Retiz attended and played at Saddleback High School and Rancho Santiago Junior College in Santa Ana, Calif.

The Galaxy also re-signed forward Herculez Gomez and midfielder Jesus Ochoa as Developmental Players.

Gomez, a native of Las Vegas, Nev., did not see MLS action last season. Ochoa finished his rookie season with nine appearances, including four starts. He is a native of Riverside, Calif.
