The Los Angeles Galaxy has signed 35-year-old Austrian midfielder Andreas Herzog, who has played for Werder Bremen, Bayern Munich and Rapid Vienna.
Herzog, who has represented Austria 103 times, scoring 26 goals, joins a team that after last season bid farewell to playmaker Mauricio Cienfuegos, who retired at age 35.
Herzog played eight seasons in the German Bundesliga with SV Werder Bremen (1992-1995 and 1997-2002) and two with Bayern Munich (1995-1997), scoring 69 goals in 264 games.
