MLS: Manny Lagos leaves San Jose for Columbus

Manny Lagos, who helped the San Jose Earthquakes win MLS titles in 2001 and 2003, will join the Columbus Crew in exchange for a third round draft pick in 2005.

''I am incredibly excited,'' said Lagos. ''I am from the Midwest and Columbus is a great club. They have great facilities and it is a great atmosphere for soccer. I am looking forward to it.''

Lagos, a Minnesota product, has played 147 MLS regular season games for San Jose (2001-2003), Tampa Bay (1999-2000), Chicago (1998-1999) and the MetroStars (1996-1997). He has scored 26 goals and 33 assists.
