MLS has postponed the next two MetroStars matches, it was announced Aug. 4. The postponements were made to give the MetroStars a chance to reschedule the games when the team can play on natural grass. The Metros were originally slated to host New England on Wednesday, Aug. 6 and Dallas on Sunday, Aug. 10. The MetroStars had planned to switch Sunday’s contest to the Cotton Bowl, but scheduling conflicts negated the move. A revised schedule of MetroStars games is to be released in the near future. The team is looking to play three of its final four home games (against New England, Dallas and San Jose) between Aug. 20 and 29 at Giants Stadium. The MetroStars are now off until Aug. 15, when they face Colorado at Mile High Stadium. New York/New Jersey also waived defender Ezra Hendrickson, whose 30-day contract had expired. Hendrickson appeared in eight games for the team this season.
