Soccer America Executive Editor Mike Woitalla predicts: New England 2 San Jose 1
Preview
(Time ET) Wednesday, August 8 (7:30 p.m.) San Jose Earthquakes at New England Revolution (FSBA, WB-56)
Did you know? The Earthquakes have lost two straight for the second time this season. The last time the Quakes lost two in a row (1-0 vs. Dallas April 14 and 2-1 at Miami April 21), they responded by going unbeaten in their next 12 games, a streak which ties them for the longest unbeaten streak in MLS this season. … The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 30, but was postponed due to a severe thunder and lightning storm. … New England is coming off a 5-1 thrashing of Dallas last weekend and must keep the roll going as they fight for an MLS playoff berth. SCHEDULED REFEREES: Referee: Kevin Terry; Assistant Referees: George Vergara (SAR), Bill Dittmar (JAR)
