Location: Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff: 9:00 p.m. (EDT). Television: ESPN2. Satellite: Galaxy 5, Tr. 14.

Previous Meeting: none.

Injuries: D.C. — G Jeff Causey (sublexated shoulder) is probable, M Jesse Marsch (calf contusion) is doubtful, D Mike Huwiler is on injured reserve; Kansas City — G Garth Lagerwey and D Uche Okafor (lower back strains) are probable.

Preview: Both teams have been playing well recently. D.C. has won three straight, and will be well-rested after a two-week break. Coach Bruce Arena has called up defender George Gelnovatch, the former UVa star who succeeded him as head coach of the Cavaliers, from Hampton Roads of the USISL. The Wiz welcome Mike Sorber back to the lineup, but defender Samuel Ekeme will miss tonight’s game due to a one-game MLS suspension. Ekeme was involved in a “confrontation” with the referee after Kansas City’s controversial shootout loss at New England on Saturday. The Nigerian international was also fined $1,000, and his case is currently under review by the USSF, which could increase the suspension. Wiz forward Digital Takawira returns after scoring the decisive goal in Zimbabwe’s 2-2 draw with Madagascar in World Cup ’98 qualifying (Zimbabwe won 4-3 on aggregate).
