MLS: Tom Soehn named D.C. United assistant coach

Tom Soehn, a Chicago Fire assistant coach for the past three years, has been named Peter NowakÆs assistant at D.C. United.

The club, which hired Nowak to replace Ray Hudson (2002-03), plans to hire a second assistant prior to the beginning of preseason training.

Assistant coach John Trask and goalkeeping coach David Vanole will not return to D.C. United.

Soehn, 37, played five years in MLS as a defender with Dallas and Chicago. He is also a veteran of the APSL, CISL, and NPSL.
