By Will Kuhns, Senior Editor BEST GOALS: Colorado passer Carlos Valderrama surprised many with his first goal since May 19, 2001, but none more important than Galaxy goalkeeper Matt Reis, who was unable to reach El Pibe's 23-yard chip that glanced off the underside of the crossbar. The goal tied the game 2-2 in the 67th minute; the Rapids went on to win, 3-2. . . . Although it came off a corner kick, Carlos Bocanegra's diving header was a beauty and the gamewinner in the 80th minute for Chicago against Columbus in a 5-4 thriller. FAB TWO: Argentine forward Dario Fabbro, in his third start for Kansas City, scored his first two MLS goals to help the Wizards salvage a 2-2 tie against Dallas. The Wizards' other new acquisition, Igor Simutenkov, also played well, setting up several opportunities for Fabbro. MORE SALIVA? Colorado complained after its win that Galaxy forward Carlos Ruiz, who scored two goals, spit in the face of Rapids midfielder Wes Hart. Several Rapids said they saw the incident, but Ruiz refused to comment, accoring to the Denver Post. No card was issued, but the league is reviewing the incident. Last May, Valderrama received a red card and an additional $750 fine for spitting on Miami's Ian Bishop. SATURATION SATURDAY? With soccer fans across the country focused on the seven World Cup matches this past weekend, the four MLS games averaged just 11,824 — and that included an impressive 21,539 in New England. The weekend's poor showing lowered the league's overall average by about 400, down to 16,105. MLS GAME SUMMARIES (June 1-2) Saturday, June 1 COLORADO (6-3-1, 19 pts) 3 LOS ANGELES (4-4-2, 14 pts) 2.
