Nothing decided in the East although the Metros stun the Crew in overtime as D.C. and the Fire loses; Quakes slam Kansas City to widen their lead in the West as Los Angeles moves into third place.

BEST GOALS: John Wolyniec's overtime goal that downed the Crew deserves consideration for Goal of the Year.

Guevara flighted a long free kick from midfield to Wolyniec running the left side of the box, and he hit a fierce, rising left-footed volley that blazed past keeper Jon Busch in the 99th minute.

STAT: The Metros have scored three overtime goals this season. FACT: Wolyniec has two of them.

Landon Donovan scored the second of his three goals in the Quakes 4-1 win by darting through midfield, poking the ball wide for Dwayne DeRosario, and then racing forward to tuck DeRosario's return pass into the net.

FACT: Donovan's hat trick was the first in team history. STATS: Kansas City's home record fell to 5-4-3 and its 22 goals conceded at home is second-worst in the league.

BEST SAVE: Scott Garlick snuffed a Taylor Twellman penalty kick by diving left to turn away the low shot in the 0-0 draw the Revs and Rapids played Thursday night.

STAT: Garlick and the Rapids have conceded just one goal in their last four games.

HOME SWEET HOME: United keeper Nick Rimando fumbled a Carlos Ruiz shot into his net to give the Galaxy a 1-0 overtime win at Home Depot Center.

STAT: Los Angeles is 8-2-3 in its new digs, which ties Colorado for the second-best home record in the league. (The Fire is 7-1-4 at North Central College). FACT: United lost in overtime for the third time this season.

BATTLING BURN: Dallas took the lead against the Fire, as it had done in three of its last four games, but this time the Burn held on to win.

Toni Nhleko got his first Burn goal on the rebound of an Eddie Johnson shot and Johnson got the second goal in first-half stoppage time to give Dallas a 2-0 win.

FACTS: The Burn broke a four-game losing streak with the victory, which prevented Chicago from clinching a playoff spot.
