The Metros and Quakes share 10 goals; Columbus snags a point in stoppage time; Dallas falls from the unbeaten ranks; Adin Brown and Joe Cannon trade heroics as the Rapids and Revs go goalless; and the Fire scores late to tie the Wizards.

BEST GOALS: Of the 20 goals scored over the weekend — half of which came in the same game — there was no shortage of the spectacular and memorable.

For drama over distance, Joselito Vaca's 30-yard boomer that tied the Quakes-Metros match at 2-2 gets a slight nod over Fabian Taylor's missile that followed shortly thereafter.

For deft touches and sharp finishing, Jovan Kirovski's second goal in the Galaxy's 3-1 win over Dallas and Landon Donovan's juggle-and-strike rate equal mention.

Kirovski controlled a ball inside the penalty arc amid a pair of defenders and drilled it low a few inches inside the post; Donovan eluded defender Tenwya Bonseu with a pair of flicks and then volleyed a left-footed shot that took a deflection on its way into the net.

For precise placement, Davy Arnaud wins the prize with his first-time rip that hit the underside of the crossbar a foot inside the post to give Kansas City a short-lived 2-1 lead against Chicago in what turned out to be a 2-2 tie.

For last-minute heroics, there are two: Glen struck again in the final minute to knot the Metros and Quakes with five goals apiece, and Carlos Ruiz flipped over a challenge from Scott Garlick outside the penalty area and bounced off the ground to slot home a clinching goal for the Galaxy.

BEST ASSIST: Diego Gutierrez unhinged the Chicago defense with an interception in his own half, aggressive dribble up the field, and well-flighted ball that Chris Klein fired past Henry Ring to open the scoring.

Jaime Moreno and Ben Olsen teamed up with a diagonal ball and precise cross, respectively, to set up Dema Kovalenko for a header that gave D.C. United a 1-0 lead. Columbus would eventually match the goal in stoppage-time on a Ross Paule penalty kick.

BEST SAVES: Brown and Cannon both pulled off several miraculous saves as the Rapids and Revs combined for 29 shots but no goals.

Brown stopped Mark Chung after the Revs had gone down to 10 men when Shalrie Joseph had pulled back Chris Henderson on a breakaway. Cannon thwarted Taylor Twellman from point-blank range with a face save and tipped away an Jose Cancela free kick that was bound for the upper corner.

Tony Meola robbed Dispy Selolwane twice eight minutes apart, but Selolwane forced home the rebound of his second shot to give the Fire its tie.

STREAKS: The Galaxy broke a 17-game winless streak on the road by beating the Dallas. Los Angeles set a league mark last year by failing to win on the road for the entire season (0-9-6).

Colorado's tie extended their unbeaten run at home to 15 games. The Rapids haven't lost at Invesco Field since a May 17, 2003 defeat by the MetroStars.

PENALTY! Three PKs were called and all were converted. The Metros and Quakes drew one apiece and neither generated much protest, but D.C. United coach Peter Nowak said, ''The game was stolen from us'' when referee Terry Vaughn called Brandon Prideaux for a foul on Frankie Hejduk.

Paule's penalty kick cost United a couple of points; Nowak's comments will probably cost him a few hundred dollars when the MLS disciplinary committee hands out fines.
