San Jose and Chicago remain unbeaten by tying each other; the Revs get revenge for MLS Cup 2002; Clint Mathis scores and the Metros win — again; the Crew win, too, but Dallas and D.C. lose and have yet to win this season.

BEST GOAL: A superb four-player sequence yielded Amado Guevara's clever chip that Mathis controlled high on his chest and stabbed into the net with the outside of his right foot as the Metros downed United, 1-0. Richie Williams started the play on the dribble and Mark Lisi played a simple ball that Guevara chipped to Mathis.

STATS: The Metros are 19-0-2 when Mathis scores. D.C. has gone 283 minutes without a goal.

BEST ASSIST: There were a few beauties, but top prize goes to Francisco Gomez's lofted long ball that Eric Quill ran onto and smashed past D.J. Countess off the underside of the crossbar in Kansas City's 3-1 bouncing of the Burn.

FACT: Gomez set up Chris Klein for an equalizer April 12 against D.C. with a long ball up the right side.

BEST SAVE: The best of Quakes keeper Pat Onstad's six saves didn't make the ''MLS Wrap'' highlights summary of the Fire-Quakes match that was goalless but hardly joyless.

Onstad's full-length dive and stretch in the 73rd minute just got his fingertips to an Andy Williams laser bound for the far side.

HERO: Onstad was named Man of the Match for his work between the posts. He also turned away blasts from Ante Razov and Evan Whitfield.

STAT: The Quakes have not been scored upon in 306 consecutive minutes.

STAT: Chicago keeper Zach Thornton's shutout was the 38th of his career, second on the all-time list behind Tony Meola (44).

ONE AND ONE: Eric Quill and Chris Brown each had a goal and an assist for the Wizards. Three minutes after scoring, Quill drove a diagonal ball to the far post that Brown controlled and stuck into the net for a 2-0 lead.

Midway through the second half Brown played a ball up the right wing that Chris Klein, who was not offside, ran onto and jammed into the net for the clinching goal.

TOP GUNS: The Burn-Wizards game matched up the top two scorers in league history: Jason Kreis and Preki. Kreis scored his 81st goal and now has 224 points, five behind Preki at 229 (67 goals, 95 assists).
