Maryland moved back above .500 with a 2-1 win over Lehigh in non-conference action on Tuesday. Sophomore Jeremy Hall connected on a penalty kick in the 84th minute to break the tie. The loss was the third of the season for the Mountain Hawks (5-3-2), who lost only two games all last season.
Elon’s eight-match unbeaten streak ended when it fell to College of Charleston, 2-0, in one of three Southern Conference games. Everything went wrong for the Phoenix, who missed a chance to go ahead in the first half when Brett Paschall‘s penalty kick was saved and who conceded the first goal on an own goal.
Furman improved to 11-1-0 over all and 4-0-0 in So-Con play on Brooks Duff’s goal in the sixth minute.
Freshman Miquel Casajuana scored four goals and senior Saidi Isaac scored a hat trick leading the Winthrop past Brevard, 9-1.
