Arsenal's Spanish striker Jose Antonio Reyes, 21, received a call by a man identifying himself as Real Madrid sporting director Emilio Butragueno, and Reyes told the caller: ''I am delighted that Real Madrid is interested in me because I have always wanted to play there. God willing, it can happen. The way things are [in London] at the moment, I'm not happy.''

But the caller was an impersonator and the conversation went out on live Spanish radio. Reyes, whom Arsenal bought for $32 million from Sevilla a year ago, afterward reiterated his commitment to Arsenal in a statement on the club Web site.

In this season's 26 league games, Reyes has started 16, come off the bench for five, and scored six goals.
