The nativity scene at London's Madame Tussauds wax museum in which David Beckham was depicted as Joseph and his wife, Victoria (formerly Posh Spice) as the Virgin Mary, has been severely vandalized.
The $96,000 exhibit, which had been denounced by the Vatican, the Archbishop of Canterbury and other religious groups, also featured Tony Blair, George W. Bush and the Duke of Edinburgh as the Three Wise Men and singer Kylie Minogue as the angel.
Before being restrained by security, a young man knocked over the Beckhams, smashing Victoria's face and crushing David's hands.
''The baby Jesus is fine,'' said a museum spokesperson.
