RB New York coach Juan Carlos Osorio plans to coach the team next season, writes Frank Giase, and is already working on the shape of his 2009 roster. Reaching MLS Cup last month is allowing him no room for complacency.

"When you achieve something good, you cannot just rest on your laurels and think the next season will be the same outcome," Osorio said Tuesday. "One of the strengths of a good coach is anticipation, and I anticipate a very hard season in 2009. I want to stay here. I want to enjoy what we have done and I want to be a part of that."

Osorio said that in order to strengthen the team ahead of three competitions — MLS, the U.S. Open Cup and the Concacaf Champions League — he may trade the second designated player slot for two or three quality players to give the team more depth. He said he also plans on keeping midfielders Jorge Rojas and Juan Pietravallo, acquisitions from this past season who largely disappointed, in order to help achieve that depth.
