The Cape Cod Crusaders took advantage of a pair of defensive miscues to claim their second successive USL Premier Development League championship, beating the Chicago Fire Reserves, 2-0, at Cardinal Stadium in Naperville, Ill.

Coastal Carolina University star Joseph Ngwenya — the PDL's top scorer — converted a 17th-minute penalty kick, and former Bowdoin College standout David Bulow added an 81st-minute goal after a Fire giveaway.

Chicago, affiliated with Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire, dictated play most of the second half but hit the goal frame three times.

Cape Cod is the fifth team in USL amateur history to repeat as champions. The others were the Chicago Sockers (1999-2000), Central Coast Roadrunners (1996-1997), Greensboro Dynamo (1993-1994) and Colorado Comets (1989-1990).
