Star Polish goalie Jerzy Dudek, who skipped Poland’s trip to Cyprus last month because of a groin injury, is back in the Polish team for its friendly with World Cup co-host Japan Wednesday, March 27. Legia Warsaw midfielder Bartosz Karwan, the only Polish-based starter, and Schalke defender Tomasz Hajto are the other starters returning from injuries. Jacek Zielinski, Karwan’s midfield partner on Polish First Division leader Legia, also returns from injury for Poland, which meets the United States in their final Group D match at the World Cup.
