The U.S. national team faces Honduras Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M. (TV: Fox Soccer Channel & HDNet, live, 4 p.m. ET) in its second international friendly before heading to Mexico City and the World Cup qualifying showdown with Mexico March 27.

The Americans have been training in altitude in Colorado Springs, Colo., from where they bused to Albuquerque. They beat Colombia, 3-0, on March 9 in a friendly in Fullerton, Calif.

The only changes in the training squad since the Colombia game are the addition of Bobby Convey, who's mired on the bench at English club Reading, and the departure of Eddie Gaven (U-20 tournament in South Korea) and Frankie Hejduk (injured).

The United States carries a 42-month unbeaten streak against CONCACAF opponents into Saturday's game against the Catrachos. The U.S. is 5-2-3 all-time vs. Honduras in a series that dates back to a 1-0 win for the U.S. in World Cup qualifying play in 1965. The last two games, both friendlies, ended in 4-0 U.S. wins.

The Chicago Fire's Ivan Guerrero is one of only four players retained from the team that tied Costa Rica, 0-0, at home in the final game of the semifinal round of World Cup qualifying and was eliminated from contention. Coach Chelato Ucles' squad is preparing for the 2005 Gold Cup. It finished second in the recent UNCAF Champions Cup.
