Jim Montreal, Quebec I would like to get some books and tapes about coaching. How do I go about ordering them? Mike Woitalla: Reedswain Soccer Videos and Books puts out a nice catalog with an extensive selection. You can contact Reedswain at 1-800-331-5191 or go online to: www.reedswain.com. If you’re also interested in the history of coaching and tactics, let me recommend “The Simplest Game,” by Soccer America columnist Paul Gardner. While it is not at all a how-to book, it will go far in providing a thorough understanding of the game of soccer. For example, its Tactics chapter includes diagrams of lineups from history’s great teams. That it traces the evolution of soccer makes it valuable for anyone involved in the game.
