Steven D. Lenhart Portland, Ore. What is the best deal for a soccer fan, Dish Network or DirecTV? I have looked on soccerTV.com but I need to know if soccer fans are happy with what they have. Ridge Mahoney: Steve, you should post your question on soccer chat room sites to elicit responses. (Click on SA Graffiti). Fox Sports World will be available on DirectTV starting Sept. 1, and the MLS shootout package is already available on DirectTV. I don’t know if the ESPN Extra (pay-per-view) is going to be available on small-dish. That service will televise the Champions League game produced by ESPN International that are not shown on ESPN or espn2. Make a list of what competitions, leagues, etc., are important to you, in order of importance, and read the responses from fans who are small-dish subscribers. You should also ask your local cable system what pay-per-view programming they will be offering, and what is included on their upgrade packages.
