Real Madrid, with its glut of striking options, is reportedly ready to offer Julio Baptista and cash to Arsenal in exchange for wantaway left-winger Jose Antonio Reyes. Fabio Capello, Real’s new coach, is desperate to add the speedy left-winger as part of his revolution at the Bernabeu. Real also knows that the Gunners came close to signing Baptista from Sevilla last year, after Real beat out the North London club for the player’s signature. It’s now no secret that Reyes and family want out of London, just as it’s no secret Arsenal could use another top quality striker while Real has too many. According to Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo, the two clubs are about 10 million euros apart in their valuation of the Spanish international; throwing Baptista into the mix would help bring the price down. The Brazilian striker only just joined Real last summer, but was never able to hold down a regular starting spot.
