Real Madrid, one of the world’s richest clubs, is set to unveil Fabio Capello as the team’s new coach, the Guardian reports. This will be Capello’s second stint as Real coach; he also coached the La Liga side during the 1996-1997 season, where he brought them the league title. Ramon Calderon, Real’s newly elected President, said “[Capello] is a winner, and this is very important at this club after three years without a title.” He said the former Juventus boss would instill “discipline, preparation and planning, something that this club has lacked in recent years.” Calderon said Capello is the first of many changes at the Madrid club over the next few weeks. During the election, Calderon promised to bring in at least three new young players, including Chelsea winger Arjen Robben, Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Milan playmaker Kaka. He singled out former England captain David Beckham as having a secure future at the club. “He’s very important for us,” he added. “All the supporters here are very much with him and of course he’s very important in the commercial area, I want to have him with us forever, at least the three years I think we have still with him.”
