American referee Brian Hall, who was in the middle for Ecuador-Italy, has been assigned to referee Nigeria-England June 12. Hall is one of only four referees who has been chosen to referee a second game so far. Hall was the fourth official for the Argentina-England game June 7. Each of the 36 referees in the World Cup were assigned one match as a referee and one as a fourth official. The referees are evaluated after each game, and then FIFA assigns more matches to the highest rated referees.
