Brazilian living legend Ronaldo is set to make his debut for new team Corinthians when they meet Itumbiara on Wednesday, with the striker expected to come on in the second half of their Brazilian Cup match.
Ronaldo’s return was originally slated for Sunday when they face nemesis Palmeiras, but the three-time World Player of the Year’s hat trick and solid 70 minutes in a pair of recent scrimmages moved up that timetable.
The injury-plagued 32-year-old’s comeback, more than a year in the making since undergoing knee surgery in February 2008 while still with AC Milan, comes less than a week after he was fined for missing team curfew last Friday.
