The USA dominated Scotland in Glasgow but had to settle for a 1-1 tie in its final game of 2005.
DaMarcus Beasley was taken down in the penalty area and Josh Wolff converted the penalty kick as the Americans took the lead in the ninth minute at Hampden Park.
But the Scots equalized in the 39th minute when Andy WebsterÆs header off a free kick beat Kasey Keller on their only shot on goal.
The USA finished with a 13-3-4 record, an all-time high for wins and the best-ever winning percentage (.750) in a season where the team has played more than 10 games, breaking the record of .733 set just last year when the U.S. went 8-1-6 in 15 games.
Two players û forward Chris Rolfe and defender Heath Pearce û made their international debuts, and Eddie Gaven made his first career start.
Arena has used 54 players through the 20-game U.S. schedule in 2005.
