The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the winners of its first writing contest at the 49th annual NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.
Two Soccer America writers were among the four award recipients. Winning first prize in the best column category was Soccer America Youth Soccer Letter editor Dan Woog for his piece titled “A Tribute To A Caring Parent.” Garnering the top award for the college division was Soccer America Senior Editor Mike Woitalla for his piece titled “Gender Equity’s Other Side.”
A total of 65 entries were received for the contest. With increased interest in soccer, there has been increased coverage of the sport and the NSCAA seeks to recognize the best writers who chronicle soccer’s personalities, problems, games and growth.
