Questions have surrounded Real Salt Lake striker Yura Movsisyan since word broke that he signed with Danish Superliga club Randers FC last weekend. Details of the commitment remain murky while the MLS and Randers sort out the details. Movsisyan says he will join the Horses as soon as circumstances permit. “If they come to an agreement, I’ll make the move,” Movsisyan said. “But, again, I’ve done my part. Now it’s MLS and the club’s part. If they want me early enough and they want to put in the money MLS is asking for, then I’ll be happy to go.”
RSL coach Jason Kreis wants to retain Movsisyan as long as possible, and he understands why a top-flight European team would covet his services. “I’m somebody that has always believed that Yura Movsisyan has the talent, the capabilities and the potential to be a world star,” Kreis said. “I’ve always thought there’s a possibility we’d lose Yura.”
Movsisyan’s exit would leave a huge void up top for RSL to fill. Since joining the team from Kansas City in 2007, he has proved a difference-maker on the field. He scored six goals in his final seven games last year. And he has continued his solid play this season, tallying four goals and a pair of assists in 16 games.
