[MLS] Midfielder Juan Toja has been transferred from FC Dallas to Romanian club FC Steaua Bucharest. The 23-year-old Colombian joined Dallas last season from Argentina’s River Plate and made 43 MLS appearances, scoring eight goals.
Toja was an MLS All-Star in 2007 and 2008.
Steaua has been drawn to play Turkey’s Galatasaray in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champion’s League.
FC Dallas will receive two-thirds of the undisclosed transfer fee which may be use for development of the on-field product; a portion of which can be used as allocation money, and the rest for improvements to the first team or youth programs.
