U-20 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament

The 1995 CONCACAF U-20 Qualifying Tournament will be held April 14-25 in Monterrey, Mexico. Either two or four of the 12 teams will advance to the 1997 World Youth Championship in Malaysia, pending the outcome of an upcoming FIFA vote on whether to expand the championship from 16 to 24 nations.

The CONCACAF entrants have been divided into three groups of four teams. The teams will play each other in a round-robin format using three points for a win and one point for a tie. The winners of the three groups advance to the Winners Group in the second round, where the three teams will again play each other in the round-robin format to determine qualifying spots one through three.

The three second-place teams advance to the Runner-up Group in the second round, where they will play each other in the round-robin format. The winner of the Runner-up group will receive the fourth qualifying spot (depending on the FIFA vote).

The USA will face Jamaica, Martinique, and Honduras in the first round.
