Uefa has chosen four Polish cities and Ukraine's capital Kiev to host Euro 2012 games but has postponed a final decision on other Ukrainian venues, the organization's president, Michel Platini, said today. "There are still many problems to be resolved in Ukraine," he admitted. "There are huge infrastructure problems."

The four Polish cities confirmed as hosting sites are Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw and Gdansk. Platini named Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv as the Ukrainian candidates awaiting confirmation. A final decision on the venues will be made Nov. 30.

So far Kiev is the only Ukraine city to make Uefa's grade. But Platini has said that the city might not host the final as had been planned. "The final match will be held in Kiev only if specific conditions with regard to the stadium, airport infrastructure, regional transport and accommodation are met by November 30," Platini said. "Kiev is OK according to Uefa's criteria for all matches leading up to the semifinal. If it's not Kiev it could be Warsaw." Despite the concerns, Platini insisted he remains committed to playing the tournament in Eastern Europe.
