The United States beat Russia, 4-1, Sunday for its second win at the Under-19 Women's World Championship in Thailand and clinch a spot in the quarterfinals.

Midfielder Angie Woznuk scored once (on a penalty kick) and set up two more goals. In her first start of the tournament, Jessica Rostedt had two goals.

Rostedt's insertion in the lineup was one of two changes made by Coach Mark Krikorian. Yael Averbuch started at holding midfielder, while Stephanie Logterman moved to the left flank.

The United States is one of four teams with 2-0 records along with Germany, Canada and China. Nebraska's Brittany Timko had a hat trick to lead the Canadians to a 7-0 win over host Thailand. Nigeria upset Brazil, 3-2. The Brazilians feature Olympic stars Marta and Cristiane.
