The top two U.S. national team goalies, Brad Friedel and Kasey Keller, were both on the bench for third-round matches in the English FA Cup. Friedel’s Blackburn Rovers won its replay against Barnsley, 3-1, with Irishman Alan Kelly in goal, and Keller’s Tottenham beat Coventry, 2-0, on the road with Scottish international Neil Sullivan in the nets. Friedel had played 26 of Blackburn’s first 27 games — missing one League Cup match after returning for the USA-Jamaica World Cup qualifier. Keller started two Premier League games Dec. 29 and Jan. 1 before returning to Spurs bench.
