U.S. Abroad (March 5-7): Man U downs Fulham in FA Cup; Casey red-carded

Tim Howard advanced with Manchester United to the semfinals of the FA Cup by defeating Brian McBride and Fulham, 2-1. A blind draw Monday set up the semifinal pairings such that United faces Arsenal on April 4 in a showdown of the top two Premier League teams, while the other semifinal will feature Sunderland against either Tranmere Rovers or Millwall.

In Germany, forward Conor Casey was red-carded in a Second Division game against Burghausen that ended 0-0 while Hannover (Clint Mathis & Steve Cherundolo) lost, 1-0, to Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday in the First Division. Hannover coach Ralf Rangnick was fired on Sunday.
