Jonny Walker's club, Colo Colo, left him out to dry in its first playoff game and dropped a 3-0 decision to host Cobresal. Fortunately for Colo Colo, the two-leg series is not determined by aggregate goals, but Walker and his teammates must win this weekend at home to prolong their season. A tie puts Cobresal through to the next round.

According to Vivefutbol.com, a grave error in Colo Colo's back line resulted in an 18th-minute lead for Cobresal and penalty kicks in the 23rd and 55th minutes completed its dominant performance.

The day after the match, Walker traveled back from northern Chile to Santiago, then boarded an overnight plane to New York, where he is to meet with MetroStars general manager Nick Sakeiwicz and coach Bob Bradley Monday. A source close to Walker said the purpose of the meeting is to gauge both sides' interest in Walker joining the league via the MetroStars, who are preparing themselves in case Tim Howard signs with Manchester United. Walker plans to return to Santiago Monday night.

Walker trained with San Jose in preseason but did not sign. He is under a short-term contract with Colo Colo that runs only through the end of the season, at which time he will be a free agent.
