With five American pros, Norway is home to more Yanks than any other country in Scandinavia.
At the halfway point in the 2005 season, the only American whose team was in the top half of the First Division standings was Robbie Russell. Rosenborg's string of 13 straight league titles was in serious danger, however, as it stood in seventh place, 12 points behind leader Start.
For the two players who left MLS clubs last winter to move to Norway, the first season has been difficult. Goalie Adin Brown (Aalesund) missed five games with a thigh injury, and Ramiro Corrales (Ham-Kan) saw only 413 minutes of action.
Brian West (Fredrikstad), battling a muscle injury, had the fewest
appearances (6) of the four Americans in the First Division. Brian Waltrip, on the other hand, is thriving at MK in the Second Division. He's tied for sixth with six goals, including a hat trick against Alta on June 11.
